Early 1800's Northwest Coast Fur Trade Dagger "Hudson Bay Company" Tassel & Bell

This is an exceptional museum quality Hudson Bay era fur trade dagger, more than likely that originated along the Columbia, River and could have made it's way into Alaska to be used by the Northwest Coast Indians, such as the Tlingits in Southeastern Alaska. The blade is massive and almost appears to be cast from a single piece of steel. I don't know the age, but I am guessing from the late 1700's to middle part of the 19th century. The piece is in exceptional condition for it's age and is very sturdy. The pommel is made from some type of a bone that has been pinned with copper into the 9 1/2 inch blade and the handle is wrapped with some type of hide. I have had knife experts look at the piece and according to them, the blade was a standard blade available through the HB Company and was a molded cast item that was almost mass produced during that time period. What is exceptional on this is, that the tassle that ornates the handle is made from aqua or a teal blue glass bead with a brass or bronze case bell attached to the end, which is also from the HB Company. The only thing this item is missing is an exceptional leather hand-made sheath. The entire length of the dagger from the tip of the blade to the bottom of the handle is around 14 1/2 inches.
